As part of QBF rubber’s commitment to full lifecycle service for sidewall conveyor belts, the company recently organized a specialized hands-on training session on ST3150 B1500 steel cord sidewall conveyor belt jointing technology at its manufacturing base. The training was conducted using actual products from a Japanese power plant project, focusing on the critical jointing techniques under the “rope-free zone” design.

The training was led by a senior after-sales technical manager with over 10 years of field installation and jointing experience. The curriculum covered the complete jointing process for ST3150-grade sidewall belts, including steel cord preparation, stepped overlap layering, and vulcanization process control. Training samples were taken from the same production batch as the Japanese power plant order, strictly adhering to Japanese acceptance standards, ensuring every technical detail meets international client expectations.

Joint quality is decisive for conveyor belt service life and operational safety. For sidewall belts, jointing involves not only high tensile strength but also sidewall sealing and operational stability—making the process considerably more complex than standard conveyor belt jointing. The hands-on session emphasized “rope-free zone” operating procedures, achieving joint strength above 85% of the original belt while effectively preventing stress concentration and material leakage risks.
