Cold Resistant Conveyor Belt

QBF rubber’s cold resistant conveyor belt stays flexible down to 50°C. Flame retardant, oil resistant & anti abrasive options for cold climate open pit mining, port and power plant bulk conveying. Multiple belt carcass styles available.

Product Overview

QBF rubber cold resistant conveyor belt ensures stable material handling in extreme cold conditions.

Anyone using standard belts at freezing job sites knows the common issues: rubber turns rigid, cracks and loses elasticity in low temperatures. These defects cause unplanned downtime, higher repair costs and potential safety hazards.

Our custom cold resistant cover rubber solves these on site problems. The specialized compound retains flexibility, tensile strength and wear resistance in deep freeze. It is a key conveying component for facilities operating in persistent cold environments.

Why Choose QBF rubber Cold Resistant Conveyor Belt

We do not just use general purpose rubber with minor adjustments. Every cold resistant belt comes from specially formulated rubber compounds mixed in house.

Many suppliers simply lower rubber hardness and call their belts “cold resistant”. Those cheap alternatives turn brittle after several weeks in continuous sub zero conditions. Our formula keeps stable performance through repeated freeze thaw cycles, which is very common for outdoor mines and ports.

  • Strict lab cold resistance test before every batch shipment
  • Real world field proven in high latitude cold mining sites
  • Custom compound mixing to match your exact working conditions
  • Full traceability for rubber raw materials
  • Test reports available upon request for your project tender

Quick Selection Guide

Think over these points before sending your inquiry:

  1. Minimum site temperature: Confirm your lowest ambient temperature, choose C1 (-45℃ max) or C2 (-50℃ max) grade
  2. Material being conveyed: Is it sharp rock, heavy ore, oily coal, or combustible material? Decide if you need extra oil resistant, flame retardant or heavy anti abrasive cover
  3. Belt strength requirement: Textile carcass or steel cord carcass? Tell us your required tensile strength
  4. Working environment: Indoor workshop or fully open air site with wind chill? Wind chill will make actual belt surface temperature even lower than air reading.

Tip: Wind chill effect matters! If your location has strong cold wind, we suggest upgrading to one grade colder for longer service life.

Typical Application Scenarios

  • Cold region open pit mining
  • Lignite coal and hard rock mining
  • Quarries & aggregate yards
  • Long distance overland conveyor lines
  • Ore and mineral processing plants
  • Bulk cargo port terminals in cold areas
  • Power and heating plants

Expected Service Life

Belt service life heavily depends on loading weight, material sharpness, impact force and actual minimum operating temperature.

When operated within our designed temperature range and with correct installation & maintenance:

  • For open pit mine overland lines: Normally 12 24 months
  • For port & power plant bulk conveying: Normally 18 30 months

Running the belt below its rated minimum temperature will drastically shorten service life and cause unexpected cracking damage.

  • Metaltrans
  • Autostable
  • Ripstop (tear resistant for sharp, jagged bulk material)

FAQ

Q1: What belt carcass types pair up with this cold resistant rubber cover?

A: Our cold resistant covers work with many carcass constructions: textile reinforced Multitrans, Sempercord, steel cord Metalcord and Metaltrans, Autostable and rip stop tear resistant belts. Send over your required belt strength, and we can put together a proper suggestion.

Q2: Which industries order cold resistant conveyor belts most often?

A: Buyers mainly come from open pit mines, high latitude port terminals, power plants, rock quarries and mineral processing facilities in cold climate zones.

Q3: Does wind chill affect cold resistant conveyor belt performance?

A: Yes. Wind chill drops the real surface temperature of belt far below the air thermometer reading. For windy cold exposed sites, we often recommend C2 grade even if local recorded low temperature is only 42℃.

Q4: Can cold resistant belts work in hot summer weather as well?

A: Yes. Both C1 and C2 grades work fine up to +45℃. They handle big seasonal temperature swings, which is perfect for locations with freezing winter and hot summer.

Q5: What test methods do you use for cold resistance performance?

A: Our lab runs tensile cold resistant coefficient test following HG/T 3647 2014 standard for every batch. Test reports can be provided for tender or project review.

Daily Maintenance Tips for Cold Resistant Conveyor Belts

1.Keep belt surface clean from ice and snow build up. Thick ice will increase load and accelerate rubber fatigue.

2.Check cover rubber surface regularly for tiny cracks during cold seasons. Early inspection avoids sudden belt tearing.

3.Adjust pulley and roller alignment correctly. Misalignment creates extra stress and speeds up cracking under cold conditions.

4.Do not apply harsh chemical solvents onto cold resistant rubber cover. Solvents will destroy low temperature rubber performance.

QBF rubber&MONSHTECH at China-ASEAN Mining Forum 2026 | Booth B052, Nanning

out 30, 2026

See you in Nanning. The 14th China-ASEAN Mining Cooperation Forum kicks off November 6–8 at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center. We’re taking booth B052. MONSHTECH — the bulk-handling brand we run under QBF rubber — will have our core conveyor lineup on the stand. Why this forum, why now. Southeast Asian miners keep coming back to Nanning because it’s the one event where Chinese conveyor builders, EPC houses and the operators themselves end up in the same room. So we’re not flying out just for banners. We want to talk through actual projects. What we usually end up fixing on site. Walk onto a mine and the same three problems show up. Routes that snake across hills and ravines — trucking that ore gets expensive fast, and one rainy season wrecks the budget. Vertical lifts. Open-pit benches and underground shafts don’t play nice with a flat belt; you need something that holds material on a 40–60° incline. And dust. Coarse, abrasive rock leaking at every transfer point — environmental teams aren’t forgiving about that anymore. Our product line answers those three directly. Ropetrackand overland conveyors take the load off trucks across broken ground. Sidewallconveyor belts, sandwich belts and internal pocket belts handle the lift. Pipe conveyors and continuous ship loaders close the loop from concentrator to port, with far less spillage. What’s on the stand at B052. ROPE-TRACK sidewall conveyor belt. Pipe conveyor belt. Open-pit and underground steep-angle belts. Underground internal bucket lift. Concentrator steep-angle belts. Sandwich belts. Continuous ship-loader sidewall units. Stackers and reclaimers for mine and port yards. We scope single machines, system integration, and full EPC. Front-end survey up front, then supply, install, commission — and we don’t disappear after handover. Maintenance and upgrades are part of the deal.   If you’ve got a layout on your laptop, a site brief on your phone, or just a rough tonnage and a lift number — come find us. The engineers on stand will run through it with you: tonnage, material size, lift angle, route profile, power budget. Most of the mines we chat with leave with a haulage option that costs less than the truck-plus-standard-belt default they walked in with. Tunnel Shield Project | QBF rubber Anti-stick Sidewall Conveyor Belt Installation Service Delivered

out 20, 2026

Recently, the engineering service team from QBF rubber was dispatched to a tunnel project site and successfully completed on-site installation guidance for the sidewall conveyor belt. Supported by one-stop full-process technical services, the project’s conveying equipment achieved stable commissioning and high-efficiency operation. Tunnel construction presents tough site conditions, featuring steep conveying angles and considerable risks of material back-sliding and spillage. Breaking away from the traditional product-only supply model, QBF rubber provides a full-chain custom service package for this project. The service scope includes preliminary site survey, working-condition analysis, custom belt selection and design, bespoke belt manufacturing, on-site hot-splicing joint execution and full-cycle installation technical guidance. This complete set of services fully meets the operational demands of steep-angle material handling for tunnel construction. Shield tunnel jobs have tight working spaces, limited on-site manoeuvring, high muck volumes and wet excavated spoil. These conditions commonly cause spoil and fines to stick and pile up on conveyor belts. For this project, QBF rubber Anti-stick Sidewall Conveyor Belt was selected to tackle such field-proven issues. The belt’s special surface treatment resists sticking and enables good self-cleaning capability. It keeps damp tunnel muck and fine sand from clinging to the belt surface, helping avoid common problems triggered by material build-up: belt mis-tracking, slippage, faster-than-normal wear and reduced conveying capacity. Built with heavy-duty sidewalls and cleats, the belt is robust in structure, offers high tensile properties and holds up well against abrasion. It runs reliably for both vertical and steep inclined conveying work, cutting down significantly on material fallback, spillage and leakage. This brings tangible savings in on-site cleaning work and lowers the frequency of equipment maintenance. Having expanded from standalone product supply to end-to-end technical services, QBF rubber keeps addressing practical tunnel conveying challenges through professional, custom-built solutions. Moving ahead, QBF rubber will keep focusing on shield-tunnel muck transport and steep-angle material handling applications. Continuous upgrades to product performance and service frameworks will deliver reliable support for the efficient, eco-friendly and safe running of more engineering projects.
