Pipe Conveyor Belt

Pipe conveyor belt (tubular conveyor belt) folds into a closed tube in operation, fully containing bulk materials to eliminate spillage and dust emissions while shielding cargo from external contamination.
Supporting sharp horizontal and vertical bends, it meets strict environmental requirements and helps plants remove redundant transfer points, favored by operators troubled by on site dust and leakage issues.

Product Overview

Lots of plant operators go for pipe conveyor belt (also called tubular conveyor belt), when dust control and zero spillage become big headaches on site. This belt folds into a closed tube during running. It locks bulk materials fully inside rubber tubing. No material spill off, little dust blow out, and keeps outside dirt away from conveyed goods.

It fits conveyor layouts with tight horizontal or vertical bends. Works great for jobs with strict local environmental rules. Many sites skip extra transfer points just by switching over to this tubular belt solution.

Features

  • Two reinforcement options: high tensile steel cords or multi ply textile carcass. Both deliver reliable tension strength for long distance, heavy volume bulk handling.
  • Full set of cover rubber grades available. Each holds up well under continuous flexing, impact and cyclic load in real world plant conditions.
  • Built in cross section rigidity. The tubular shape stays stable even under full load; avoids collapse or unwanted deformation.
  • Tuned longitudinal elasticity. Makes the belt perform reliably on routes with sharp curve sections. Less need to build extra transfer stations.
  • Carcass stiffness varies across belt width. Edges are made more flexible. This ensures firm, consistent overlap once the belt forms a pipe. Hardly any gaps open during normal running.
  • Cuts material loss caused by spillage. Helps sites meet emission requirements.
  • Handles high capacity and long haul conveying set ups.

Rubber Cover Options

Select suitable rubber compound based on your material and working environment:

  • Normal Abrasion resistant:Standard choice for most regular bulk solids. Handles friction and particle impact in daily operation.
  • Heat resistant: For hot feed like clinker, high temp ore and calcined products. Tolerates sustained high temperature contact.
  • Low Rolling resistant:Brings down running friction. Cuts power draw for long conveyor lines and lowers your ongoing energy expense.
  • Oil resistant: Use with oily or greasy bulk materials. Stops rubber swelling, softening and early performance failure from oil exposure.
  • Flame retardant: Designed for underground mines and high fire risk zones. Limits flame spread once ignited.
  • Acid & Alkali resistant:Resists chemical erosion when handling corrosive bulk or working in acid alkali fume surroundings. Slows rubber ageing.

 Applications

Pipe conveyor belts handle bulk material transport across multiple industries, especially sites with high environmental protection expectations:

  • Mining: Coal, ore and mine waste transport. Perfect for lines running close to residential zones or public roads.
  • Power plants:Raw coal and coal ash delivery. Closed tube structure keeps coal dust from spreading to surrounding areas.
  • Metallurgy: Move sinter, pellets and other metallurgical raw materials. Well suited for lines with frequent direction changes.
  • Building materials: Limestone, cement clinker, gypsum and construction aggregates.
  • Grain industry: Transport wheat, corn and similar crops. Shields grain from moisture, insects and external contamination.

 FAQ

Q1: What real world benefits does pipe conveyor belt have vs regular open flat conveyor belt?

A: It runs as a fully sealed tube. Bulk material stays wrapped inside. You get nearly zero spillage and much less dust. Another practical plus: it can go through sharp bends. Normal flat belts need extra transfer stations to change direction, which adds cost.

Q2: Can pipe conveyor belts take both horizontal and vertical curves?

A: Yes. Its carcass is built for flexible routing. It supports horizontal turning as well as height change. Still you must follow system design on minimum curve radius. Don’t exceed design limits.

Q3: Fabric pipe conveyor belt or steel cord type — how to pick?

A: Pick multi ply fabric version for short to medium conveying distance, moderate throughput and cost sensitive projects. Go with steel cord type when you need ultra long conveying distance, heavy payload and high tension working conditions.

Q4: How do I decide which rubber cover grade to order?

A: Base your choice on actual conveyed material. Normal abrasion resistant works for regular ore and stone. Use heat resistant for hot material feed. Oil resistant for oily goods. Acid & alkali resistant for corrosive bulk. Send over your material temperature, chemical traits and site conditions, we can give practical suggestions.

Q5: Common field issues to watch out for during operation?

A: Operators often run into poor edge overlap, tube shape distortion, abnormal edge wear and cover rubber damage. Check roller sets, loading status and belt overlap on a regular basis. These simple checks help extend belt service life. Actual service life also depends on material abrasiveness and daily running hours.

Q6: Can we splice pipe conveyor belt on site?

A: Yes. Hot vulcanisation and mechanical fastener splicing are both workable options. Hot vulcanised splice gives better overall integrity and longer service life for pipe conveyor use.

QBF rubber&MONSHTECH at China-ASEAN Mining Forum 2026 | Booth B052, Nanning

out 30, 2026

See you in Nanning. The 14th China-ASEAN Mining Cooperation Forum kicks off November 6–8 at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center. We’re taking booth B052. MONSHTECH — the bulk-handling brand we run under QBF rubber — will have our core conveyor lineup on the stand. Why this forum, why now. Southeast Asian miners keep coming back to Nanning because it’s the one event where Chinese conveyor builders, EPC houses and the operators themselves end up in the same room. So we’re not flying out just for banners. We want to talk through actual projects. What we usually end up fixing on site. Walk onto a mine and the same three problems show up. Routes that snake across hills and ravines — trucking that ore gets expensive fast, and one rainy season wrecks the budget. Vertical lifts. Open-pit benches and underground shafts don’t play nice with a flat belt; you need something that holds material on a 40–60° incline. And dust. Coarse, abrasive rock leaking at every transfer point — environmental teams aren’t forgiving about that anymore. Our product line answers those three directly. Ropetrackand overland conveyors take the load off trucks across broken ground. Sidewallconveyor belts, sandwich belts and internal pocket belts handle the lift. Pipe conveyors and continuous ship loaders close the loop from concentrator to port, with far less spillage. What’s on the stand at B052. ROPE-TRACK sidewall conveyor belt. Pipe conveyor belt. Open-pit and underground steep-angle belts. Underground internal bucket lift. Concentrator steep-angle belts. Sandwich belts. Continuous ship-loader sidewall units. Stackers and reclaimers for mine and port yards. We scope single machines, system integration, and full EPC. Front-end survey up front, then supply, install, commission — and we don’t disappear after handover. Maintenance and upgrades are part of the deal.   If you’ve got a layout on your laptop, a site brief on your phone, or just a rough tonnage and a lift number — come find us. The engineers on stand will run through it with you: tonnage, material size, lift angle, route profile, power budget. Most of the mines we chat with leave with a haulage option that costs less than the truck-plus-standard-belt default they walked in with. Tunnel Shield Project | QBF rubber Anti-stick Sidewall Conveyor Belt Installation Service Delivered

out 20, 2026

Recently, the engineering service team from QBF rubber was dispatched to a tunnel project site and successfully completed on-site installation guidance for the sidewall conveyor belt. Supported by one-stop full-process technical services, the project’s conveying equipment achieved stable commissioning and high-efficiency operation. Tunnel construction presents tough site conditions, featuring steep conveying angles and considerable risks of material back-sliding and spillage. Breaking away from the traditional product-only supply model, QBF rubber provides a full-chain custom service package for this project. The service scope includes preliminary site survey, working-condition analysis, custom belt selection and design, bespoke belt manufacturing, on-site hot-splicing joint execution and full-cycle installation technical guidance. This complete set of services fully meets the operational demands of steep-angle material handling for tunnel construction. Shield tunnel jobs have tight working spaces, limited on-site manoeuvring, high muck volumes and wet excavated spoil. These conditions commonly cause spoil and fines to stick and pile up on conveyor belts. For this project, QBF rubber Anti-stick Sidewall Conveyor Belt was selected to tackle such field-proven issues. The belt’s special surface treatment resists sticking and enables good self-cleaning capability. It keeps damp tunnel muck and fine sand from clinging to the belt surface, helping avoid common problems triggered by material build-up: belt mis-tracking, slippage, faster-than-normal wear and reduced conveying capacity. Built with heavy-duty sidewalls and cleats, the belt is robust in structure, offers high tensile properties and holds up well against abrasion. It runs reliably for both vertical and steep inclined conveying work, cutting down significantly on material fallback, spillage and leakage. This brings tangible savings in on-site cleaning work and lowers the frequency of equipment maintenance. Having expanded from standalone product supply to end-to-end technical services, QBF rubber keeps addressing practical tunnel conveying challenges through professional, custom-built solutions. Moving ahead, QBF rubber will keep focusing on shield-tunnel muck transport and steep-angle material handling applications. Continuous upgrades to product performance and service frameworks will deliver reliable support for the efficient, eco-friendly and safe running of more engineering projects.
