Conveyor System Dust Suppression System

The height difference at the conveyor belt transfer point is prone to dust escape and serious dust emission, and dust explosions are prone to occur in closed spaces. Dust accumulation can easily cause serious wear of mechanical parts of the conveyor system, and smoke and dust are harmful to health.

To solve the dust problem, QBF rubber provides:

Airflow dust suppression system:

Dust suppression at the source, dust concentration can be reduced to below 8 mg/m³.

The edge seal has no contact with the belt and does not wear the belt, which can extend the service life of the belt.

The system has low energy consumption and can reduce operating and maintenance costs.

Working Principle of Negative-Pressure Airflow Dust Suppression System

Utilizes positive and negative pressure principles to solve dust problems generated during material transfer.

1. Curved Chute — Dust Suppression at Source

  • Reduces material breakage caused by impact during free fall

  • Alters material falling trajectories to reduce induced airflow formation

  • Dampens belt impact on the receiving belt caused by drop height differences

  • Prevents belt misalignment caused by uneven or off-center feeding

2. Skirting / Sealing Guide Chute — Dust Interception

  • Virtual sealed chamber stabilizes internal dust particles and airflow

  • Sealing system operates with no contact with the belt, eliminating belt wear

  • Applies Bernoulli’s principle to draw air around the chute into the internal chamber, reducing ambient dust

  • Employs secondary filter cloth and extended guide chute lengths to further decrease dust escape velocity

AIRSCRAPE® Airflow Side Skirt System

The airflow side skirt is an edge sealing system for belt conveyors. Suspended above the belt with zero contact, it leverages positive and negative pressure principles to achieve airflow dust suppression.

Key Advantages

  • High efficiency for coarse materials: Prevents material leakage while ensuring long blade service life

  • High efficiency for fine particles: Keeps dust retention on the conveyor belt via suction forces

  • Reduces dust accumulation and lowers explosion hazards

  • Zero contact with the belt body, causing no belt damage

  • Relieves drive system operating pressure

Dust Suppression Principle of Airflow Side Skirt

  • Rigid wear blades are arranged in a unique diagonal configuration; air flowing from the outside toward the center creates dynamic air suction

  • The movement of the conveyor belt interacts with specially engineered collector plates to form negative pressure

  • Material and belt movements enhance the suction effect, retaining fine dust particles on the conveyor belt

  • Edge materials are guided back toward the belt center by the blades to prevent spillage

Dual-Sealed Skirting Chute Dust Suppression System

  • Transfer Chute

  • Skirting System Anti-Spill Board
